Dr. Abdullah Algwizani is the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Health Authority ( Weqaya).
He holds a medical degree (M.B.B.S.) from King Saud University in Riyadh and the Saudi Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Algwizani completed a hospital epidemiology fellowship from the University of Iowa Health Care and Clinic in the United States and a Saudi fellowship in infectious diseases with an honors degree.
Dr. Algwizani is a member of the Board of Directors of the SaudiVision2030 Health Sector Transformation Vision Realization Program (VRP) and a member of the Board of Directors International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI).
He is the Senior Focal Point for Saudi Arabia in the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and the Anti-Microbial Resistance Champion of Saudi Arabia in the G20.
He also holds key leadership positions in several national committees and Institutions for Health, and has represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in key international forums and meetings.
