Dr. Ninglan Wang

Unit Head Border Health and Mass Gatherings , WHO

Ninglan Wang holds a Medical Degree from Tongji Medical University, China, an MSc in public health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, and a Master of Art from Jinan University, China. She is the Unit Head of Border Health and Mass Gathering unit in the Healthy Emergency Program in WHO HQ.

Ninglan has a long record of local, national, and international experience in capacity building for cross- border risk management and in providing policy, guidance and evidence for international travel including Points of Entry, population movements and mass gathering events, She started her career as a front-line health professional working at PoE, international travel health Clinics, engaged in the preparation and delivery of mass gathering events including Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008. She was in the national delegation during the negotiation process of the IHR (2005).  Ninglan joined WHO in 2009, her main role has been to support countries in strengthening public health preparedness. readiness and response related to PoE, population movement and for mass gathering events, in close collaboration with regions and partners. She has been dedicated to fostering partnerships and served as an interface for health across partner organizations that are relevant to these areas of work, as well as peer community on the technical level. She has contributed to coordinated global preparedness and response during Pandemic H1N1, EVD, COVID-19, MoPX, MVD.
